Picture this. You have just made it to the end of the OCEANBEAT BOAT PARTY experience and you are back to where you started. Your skin is still hot. The Balearic sun has been breathing down your neck all afternoon. Beads of champagne appear in unexpected places on your body. The Iberian salt has separated your hair into wild-child curls. Unfamiliar people at your side – who cares if they were strangers four hours ago? Your shoulders are a deep bronze. Your ears are still ringing with the zesty tunes of our new sound system and when you close your eyes there is a kaleidoscope of a hundred shades of blue.
The last thing you want to do is go to your hotel room.
So if you are smart, the next thing you do is make your way along the beach to the iconic BORA BORA beach club for the OCEANBEAT AFTER-PARTY. We treat you to ANOTHER free drink when you arrive and there is no need to pay the taxi driver! That’s a lot of free drinks in one afternoon – if we were your date, you’d think we are trying to get you drunk ;)
I know that a seven-minute walk may seem barbaric to some after this energy-sapping boat party. Let me show you how to efficiently refill your tank along the way so you can strut into BORA BORA feeling energized to the MAX!
1. CAFFEINE
For those who feel their eyelids getting heavier (understandable but NOT tolerable) coffee is the answer. Grab yourself one at the first bar you see. It could be BAR ALBATROSS on the corner (common refuge point of our ex-boat-party-goers) or FOREVER BAR a little further along the promenade. And if your taste-buds haven’t been blinded by sangria, go for BUENA ONDA CAFE.
2. KEEP YOURSELF BUSY
The fun must continue. Look around. Play spot-the-promoter! Which ones of the swimsuit-clad figures on the beach are tourists and which are just promoters in disguise? Test each other. Or see which of your gang can get the most numbers typed in their phone before you get there. Now you have an official answer to who has the most game.
3. SWING THROUGH THE HIPPIE MARKET
Just a few stumbles from the beach is the hippie market of Playa d’en Bossa, between SWAG and Murphy’s. A tangle of rickety stalls that are heavily laden with anything from cashmere bandanas to jewelled tiaras to retro posters. Get lost and see the old side of Ibiza for a few moments.
4. DUNK YOUR HEAD INTO MURPHY’S
Everyone will have heard of Murphy’s. It is a classic over here in Ibiza. Try a cocktail (Pina Colada is our recommendation) and chat to the bar guys there: they know Oceanbeat.
5. SAVED BY STEAK N SHAKE
The grand finale of your walk through the colourful sights of Playa d’en Bossa is none other than Steak n Shake, conveniently located at the corner of BORA BORA. Load up on a burger or two because your body is about to be pushed to the limit by Ibiza’s club life. Try the WESTERN burger – a recommendation from the Oceanbeat Team to you.
